BEEN Project successfully organized a training on Solar Reflective Index (SRI) Paint application and Roof insulation techniques in Thakurbaba Municipality. Over 100 participants, including local government officials, masons, petty contractors, and community beneficiaries, actively joined the event. Special thanks to Mr. Somen Panda, Manager of LuminX SRI Paint, who shared valuable insights as the key resource person. As part of the event, two coats of SRI paint were applied to the CGI roof of a house under this project—Thakurbaba Municipality’s flagship social housing initiative for flood- and wildlife-vulnerable communities. SRI paint, heat-reflective paint, can effectively reduce the temperature of a surface, including the roof or walls of a building. 100 resilient homes are targeted for this year—50 already under construction—with quality supervision and on-site mason training led by the BEEN team.
