The BUILDING Energy Efficiency in Nepal (BEEN) project hosted a special event to celebrate the leadership of 12 pioneering municipalities that have successfully developed and approved Energy-Efficient Building Policies.
Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Urban Development, Honourable Prakash Man Singh, and H.E. Veronique Lorenzo, EU Ambassador to Nepal jointly congratulated the municipalities for their commitment to greener, more sustainable development.
Ambassador Lorenzo applauded the municipalities and expressed hope that these policies will set a standard for others, furthering Nepal’s path toward inclusive, environmentally conscious growth. She also thanked the Government of Nepal for collaborating in this initiative that aligns with EU’s priorities on Green Deal while strengthening the federalization process of Nepal.
In addition, two key technical resources—Manual for Hollow Fired Brick Production and Manual on Application of Building Insulation Materials—were launched by Mr. Jose Luis Vinuesa-Santamaria, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Nepal, and Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sapkota, Under Secretary at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
